Aggie J. Yellow Horse is an assistant professor of Asian Pacific American Studies and Justice and Social Inquiry in the School of Social Transformation. Her research focuses on understanding social determinants of racial health disparities by examining the influences of sociohistorical and neighborhood contexts. She is committeed to work with Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Native American communities; and her research was supported by the National Institute of Child Health and Development (NICHD). She teaches courses on Asian America, health disparities and immigration. Her committment to students and student-centered practices have been recognized by the ASU Centennial Professorship Award.

Prior to joining ASU, she worked as a political cartographer for a non-profit organization in Chicago to promote equal political representation for racial and ethnic minorities in redistricting (see Map of Chicago Chinatown & Redistricting). She received the Community-based Redistricting Fellowship from the Southern Coalition for Social Justice for her pro bono work in Chicago.
