Computer-Assisted Language Learning (Graduate Certificate)

The graduate certificate program in computer-assisted language learning focuses on the application of technology in foreign language teaching and research. It provides the practical, hands-on skills needed to create and evaluate learning and teaching materials with new computer-based technologies. The certificate program teaches students how to use technology effectively to facilitate instructed second-language acquisition and how to develop, manage and maintain a cutting-edge language computing facility. It also provides students with a solid theoretical and pedagogical framework for the integration of technology into the foreign language curriculum and provides them with the tools necessary to teach language courses in either a hybrid or distance-learning environment.
